Simulated Encounter Firearms Training provides training to citizens that is generally not available unless you are military or law enforcement. Born of the question many years ago: “where can I go to learn how to clear my house if I think someone is in it?”
Typical defensive training today is broken into only a few areas:
- Standard martial arts training available in 100’s of styles.
- Women’s self-defense training that usually involves a class or two and stamping on an attacker’s foot.
- NRA based firearms training designed to get people safe with firearms and provide a venue for advancing marksmanship skills.
All of these trainings are valuable and have benefit. In fact, our instructors are skilled martial artists and NRA instructors. But still the tactical, real-life, maybe-even-in-a-gunfight training is missing unless you are a police officer or military.
Some of the real-life training topics that are missing are:
- How do I effectively draw, fire, scan and holster my pistol?
- What should I do if someone comes near or in my house forcibly?
- What are the right weapons / calibers for personal / home defense?
- How do I use barriers and fixed-objects for protections?
- and hundreds more topics.
SEFT was created to provide this type of training in the Southeast. We provide both live-fire and simulated fire classes. For woman, we provide relaxed, comfortable and quiet environments for learning skills.
